I Thought My Carpeting was Ruined
Last week, I was outside working in the garden while my 9 year old daughter was inside of my Fort Lauderdale home watching her favorite Disney shows. This is pretty much the normal routine for Saturday mornings at my house, because my husband generally works until noon. So, I was pulling out the never ending supply of weeds that grow inside of the flower beds that go around the foundation of the house when my daughter opened the front door and asked me for help. I took of my gloves and went inside, thinking that the cable went out or something. It was much, much worse that a problem with the cable TV.
The real estate market in Palm Beach County is finally on the upswing. This upswing is after so many people lost their homes to foreclosure, or had been completely upside on their mortgages that they had to do a short sale. Last year, my husband finally broke down and let me buy a really nice suite of furniture for our living room. In fact, if you sat on it while wearing a pair of shorts you would have gotten a sticky feeling on the backs of your legs. It was just old and nasty and needed to get out of the house. Of course, my husband and his buddies didn’t see anything wrong with it, but I certainly did.
This year, I got a call from my sister that she and her family would finally be able to make it down to my home in Plantation from New York so we could spend Thanksgiving together. This would be the first holiday that we spent together in something like eleven years. Sure, we do see each other for a few days over the summer but spending an actual holiday together would truly be a blessing. Since our parents have passed on, it’s just the two of us left. I was so looking forward to sitting at the holiday table together with both of our families and reminiscing about the good old days.
Pets bring so much to our lives. They provide us with companionship, protection, and unquestioned loyalty. In return, they only ask for food, water, the occasional pat on the head and veterinary care when it’s needed. It is a fact that pets also help people in Deerfield Beach maintain good health.
